Company Overview

Naa Sheka is a clothing line that was inspired in 2007 by a journey that the company's founder took to Ghana, West Africa. The founder traveled throughout Ghana and was fascinated by the detailed and authentic textile. The style of fabric caught the eye and a fashion label was integrated with these traditional textiles with the rich history of Ghana. This fusion has created a uniquely sophisticated yet practical line. The bags are handcrafted in the company's shop in Ghana's capital city, Accra.

Naa Sheka Fashion is socially conscious and supports Fair Trade. Products include recyclable bags, to help maintain an eco-friendly environment. Trendy yoga mat bags and colorful tote bags are also available and can be found in listed retail outlets. Our collection consists of men and women's clothing that is suitable for warmer climates including men's linen pants, stylish shirts, women's tunics and Capri pants.

Naa Sheka supports the local talents in Ghana and provides them with employment. Naa Sheka strongly believes in the overall development of Ghanaians; this is why our company donates a portion of profits to "Bless the Mic", an organization that is committed to uplifting the lives of Ghanaians through, music, spoken word, and entertainment. Naa Sheka enthusiastically embraces its motto "Fashion, Passion, and Consciousness.

Brand

Naa Sheka is the brand of the line. The name is very unique, but sounds appealing when pronounced. (NAA - SHE - KA) Naa Sheka is a traditional "Ga" name from Ghana, West Africa. Its true meaning is "Lady Money". It is important to authenticate the brand and keep the origin within the name.

This is known as a cowry shell. It was used in the later part of the 19th century in Western Africa as a form of currency. Ghana's currency today is called the "cedi", which was derived from a word "sedie" meaning this type of shell. Since Naa Sheka means "Lady Money" it was most fitting to fuse the two concepts together.

The Africa logo was created by a artist, in Ghana. It symbolizes that Naa Sheka clothing is for Men and Women's and it is Origin is located on the continent of Africa.
